How it got started

For several years now me and my family (wife and 2 daughters) have been filming home videos that we burn on dvd and give as christmas presents for our relatives. Subject matter has ranged from light comedy to high fantasy, but always with the same strong "sweded" handling. This year is a going to be a bit different. The set making got a bit out of hand.

Crimson Bantha V - The Fastest Space Tanker of the Galaxy


During summer 2012 I finally set out to realize the dream I have had for a couple of years now: I started building a control module of an imaginary spaceship in the basement of my home. Below is a photo of the final result. I'm planning to post more photos of the project and cover the building process with more detailed inscriptions. I am currently working on a scale model version of the spaceship's exterior. I will blog about that subject too when I get round to it.

    I am a graphic designer/illustrator who found it refreshing to create something in real life 3D for a change. A spaceship was a natural choice for the project's theme as I am a lifelong scifi fan. I have especially always loved the set and prop designs of the Star Wars films IV-VI with their convincingly worn-out look. I'm trying to achieve the same look for my space vehicle by using mainly objects and materials I have bought from fleamarkets or found from trash.
